Global equity indexes are trading in opposite directions currently ahead of Fed chair Powell’s speech at 14:30 CET after Wall Street ended at fresh records on Monday. Tesla shares slid 0.35% underperforming market despite Bank of America reiterating its “Neutral” rating on Tesla while raising its price target to $341.00 from $305.00 citing the prospect of Tesla delivering Full Self-Driving (FSD) by the end of 2025, Microsoft shares ended flat on Monday while RBC Capital maintained its “Outperform” rating and $525.00 price target on Microsoft stock.

The Dollar strengthening has resumed currently. The live dollar index data show the ICE US Dollar index, a measure of the dollar’s strength against a basket of six rival currencies, ended 0.6% lower on Monday.

GBP/USD joined EUR/USD’s accelerated climbing yesterday. Both Pound and euro are lower against the dollar currently. USD/JPY reversed its climbing while AUD/USD slowed is advancing on Monday with both the yen and Australian dollar lower against the Greenback currently.

Futures on three main US stock indexes are mixed currently. The yield on 10-year Treasury is up at 4.385%. US stock market ended mixed on Monday with SP 500 and Nasdaq closing at fresh records as the three main stock benchmarks posted daily returns in the narrow range from -0.4% to 0.38%.

European stock indexes futures are mixed currently after indexes closed mixed on Monday as the European Union policymakers reportedly are considering retaliatory measures if a deal can’t be reached with the US after president Trump announced earlier in July that he would impose a 30% tariff on goods imported from the EU starting August 1. Asian indexes futures are mixed currently with Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index leading gains while minutes of the Reserve Bank of Australia’s July meeting showed the central bank remained open to rate cuts.

US West Texas Intermediate WTI ended 0.2% lower and are lower currently. Brent slipped 0.1% to $69.21 a barrel on Monday.
